Porsche Audi

Following a lot of other brands, today both Porsche and Audi have announced that their EVs in the US are finally gaining access to Tesla's Supercharger network, comprising over 23,500 chargers across North America.

This will occur on September 9 for Porsche EVs and "in September" for "most model year 2025 new e-tron model purchases", Audi says.

Of course, you will need an adapter. Porsche will distribute this through its dealers, free of charge for owners of newer models, and Porsche owners will have to use the Tesla app to charge. Charging through the My Porsche app and plug-and-charge support will follow "in the coming months".

Going forward, all new model year 2026 Porsche Taycan and Macan models will include the NACS DC adapter at no additional fee. Existing owners will get a notification from their My Porsche app to reserve their free adapter. If you have a model year 2024 or older Porsche EV, you will have to pay $185 for the adapter.

Audi will also have its customers initially use the Tesla app for charging. The Audi adapter will be standard for new cars arriving at dealers starting this month. Availability of the adapter for older models "will be subject to a future announcement", the brand says. Also keep in mind that for whatever reason, the Q4 e-tron can't use the adapter for now.

Maybe Blume should provide a thoughtful extension cable to avoid the dire experience from obstructing multiple spaces.
