The long-anticipated moment for electric vehicle enthusiasts has finally arrived: the first-ever Tesla Cybertruck has left Giga Texas. As Tesla dropped this bombshell on Twitter, it's safe to say there was no shortage of excitement among the reservation holders who have been on tenterhooks since the unveiling of the original Cybertruck prototype in November 2019.
The tweet, essentially a sneak peek of the first Cybertruck birthed at Giga, Texas, was cleverly disguised with the excitement of factory workers surrounding the vehicle. The mystery only heightened as the visible bits of the truck were barely enough to satiate the curiosity of the enthusiasts. All we got were glimpses of the glass roof, windshield, truck bed, and side windows. Nonetheless, the truck seemed reminiscent of the recent prototypes that had been spotted now and then.

This maiden journey of the Cybertruck from the womb of the factory to the real world is a milestone not only for Tesla but also for the EV industry. It's a stepping stone towards diversifying Tesla's portfolio, with the Cybertruck being the brand's fifth production passenger car. Now, one might say it's just another EV in the market. But remember, folks - we're talking about a pickup truck here, the kind of vehicle that has a special place in the heart of America. And that's the silver bullet Tesla's hoping to cash in on.
Back in May, Elon Musk hinted at the possibility of selling between 250,000 and 500,000 Cybertrucks per annum once the production is in full swing. Yet, he also acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead. The Cybertruck is a whole new beast, with an exoskeleton constructed from Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel, thus making it a difficult task to keep the price tag affordable.
Moving past the production, one cannot overlook the head-turning, polarizing design of the Cybertruck. It defies norms and traditions, embodying a shape, unlike any other vehicle on the road. Whether you love it or hate it, the Cybertruck refuses to be ignored. Once deliveries begin, you can bet it's going to be the superstar of the streets.
Speaking of deliveries, if we are to believe Musk's words from April, the Cybertruck handover event would likely take place around September 2023. But let's not jump the gun and expect a rain of Cybertrucks immediately. As we have seen in the past with Model Y handovers, it's most likely that Tesla would release only a small batch of Cybertrucks initially, primarily to insiders.
Musk's previous comments suggested that volume production of the Cybertruck would follow only in 2024. But with a purported 1.6 million preorders on Tesla Cybertruck already, the pressure to ramp up production must be immense. Remember, the road to the Cybertruck hasn't been an easy one - it was a "tough product to design and even tougher to build," Musk tweeted in May.
Regardless, the start of the Cybertruck production has the potential to shake up the EV market, considering the high demand for this unique EV pickup. Tesla might not have all those 1.6 million sales in the bag yet, but it sure has kick-started a thrilling ride - all eyes on Tesla.
The Tesla Cyberwhatnow? Ohhhhhhhh right that truck that was supposed to be a thing like 4 years ago for $40k. Now they've jacked up their prices and still haven't delivered a single god damn one of these trucks. Where's my ...
