Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, shared a series of photos from what appears to be the high-altitude Tianshan mountain range, with several photos containing the what appears to be the full-sized Xiaomi YU9 SUV. The first rumors about the upcoming SUV surfaced last year, and we got a glimpse of the vehicle mid-summer with camouflage on top. Now, we have even more pictures of the camouflaged vehicle.

As is always the case with vehicles, the YU9 is undergoing testing in various environments, and high-ranking officials and engineers from Xiaomi's EV department are out there testing the YU9 on steep, difficult roads 4,000 meters above sea level in the Chinese mountains.

Unfortunately, apart from a few more camouflaged YU9 pictures, there are no new details. Judging by the photos, the vehicle looks massive. Earlier rumors suggest it's more than 5.2 meters long and it's 1.8 meters high.

A few sources corroborate and believe that Xiaomi is developing two variants of the vehicle - EV and EREV. The EREV version is said to have a generous 80 kWh battery capable of 249 miles electric-only range.

Since the vehicle has been out on the road for testing at least since summer, we might be looking at an early 2026 release, although nothing is officially confirmed for now.
