BYD

BYD's premium sub-brand Yangwang posted a cool new video of its U9 fully electric supercar. The vehicle was announced back in January 2023, but pre-sales began in February this year. To promote the U9, Yangwang tested on a race track and topped 233.09 mph.

The test was carried out in May this year, but the company is releasing the video now. With a top speed of 233 mph, the Yangwang U9 easily becomes one of the fastest electric cars on the planet. In fact, it's one of the fastest cars, period. Anything that gets close to 249 mph top speed is quite impressive even for a supercar ICE vehicle. And the test shows the U9 can go way beyond its officially listed top speed of 186 mph.

The two-seat supercar runs on four 240 kW electric motors, for a total output of 960 kW (1,287 hp). Torque is whopping 1,680 Nm and it can also do 0-100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds.

There's only one version of the U9 available and it costs RMB 1.68 ($234,000). The supercar entered its production stage in late July, and deliveries are scheduled for the end of this month.

that's why EVs cannot be proper sports cars in near future. they are too heavy to move like one. they are only capable of drag racing.
