Anonymous, 12 Oct 2023It's EV, wouldn't pairing solar panels on roof of EVs be a logical fit? There are already EVs with solar roofs, e.g. Ioniq 5 as an option, though car top area is simply too small for effective battery charge.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2023It would takea whole day charge for 10 seconds of driveIt certainly would be a logical step IF the efficiency, price and the fact you can't pretty much use the roof for anything else made sense.
You just have to love all those "it would be a good idea" ideas from people having no clue how current technology works, costs or is reliable.
Solar roof on EV would charge 5-10 km of range in summer per day, right now it would charge something like 500 meters to 1 kilometre of range - is it worth it?

Do research.
Publish that research paper if you can prove your point.
If you can't, then kindly don't share nonsense.

CptPower, 12 Oct 2023Wonder how battery gets impacted in case of phone whole battery is under heat and pressure if ... moreIn a phone battery only 1 cell and in some cases 2 cell powers the whole device.

But in a ev car battery, multiple cells power that whole car.
So, stress not impacts at all cells at single point of time.

And let's assume somehow it impacts like driver is driving the car with high speed and all high performance functions are on.
Still there are advanced functions which might throttle the battery usage.
EVs are the future and those who want to stay behind will feel the same feeling those old horse carriage owners faced in those years when motor car took the market.

Why not put a wireless charging pad on the ground, so when you park your car over it it automatically starts charging your car, which of course has the necessary hardware on its bottom side?
