I switched my 2018 diesel 1-series BMW (118d, 150hp) to a 2019 BMW i3 (170hp) and pay same amount for loan every month but electricity cost is less than half of diesel. Over 1 full year I get 1,9 kW/10km of consumption, which includes pre-heating before every ride in cold season and cooling in +20C temperatures. It also includes electric charging losses which is probably 15-20%. So I save around 100 Euros per month in fuel alone. The BMW dealer gave me 3 years free service too and summer tires were brand new.

Many people are afraid of 2nd hand electric vehicles but it seems electric cars have advanced systems to take care of their batteries. Only fast-charging all the time will reduce life-span of batteries considerably.

A 600+mile potential range? Come on, Toyota, we all know those numbers are highly exaggerated. I'll believe it when I see it. Electric vehicles still have a long way to go.

Another example of the future automobile. Cars will be only affordable for rich people to show off. From being an immortal and utilitarian car the Land Cruiser evolved into a fragile iron block for the golden boy to pick up his friends.

The normal people will have to use bicycles like in third-world-countries in order to "protect" the climate, while the rich will drive their overpriced vehicles, which will need raw materials like lithium for their batteries be collected by children in neocolonialized countries in order to be produced.
