They have to buy 1990s vehicles to not have such things. So what I'm trying to say here is freedom loving people are extremely anti gullible but still end up gullible dumb.
And that's exactly why reasonable, freedom-loving people are so sceptical of EVs.
I'd never buy one either, although gas cars are worsening in these aspects too.
Docktor, 06 May 2025Tell me where in Slovakia can you drive 160 km/h on highway? I would say nowhere. From Bratislava to Trnava very easy.
Several other parts too.
And if you arent afraid of big fine you can go from Bratislava to Kosice which is about 450 klometres. The only problem is cops musnt catch you. So better to go at least 350-400 to avoid them.
Maybe for race tracks it's ok but to have access to all that power on public roads is very dangerous.
Lol, 05 May 2025Buggy hyperos strikes againI disagree enough to this. Xiaomi just launched the hyperOS last year so that's possible the software not 100 percent mature. This is for their smartphone to suit enormous new hardwares and sofwares. That's not like it for Car in my opinion which is less complex.
Anon Moose, 05 May 2025That is beyond ridiculous. The car is the hardware and any software blocking the car's pe... moreIt is how the power figures are marketed that counts. The 900 HP limit for normal roads was a good solution to avoid inexperienced drivers killing themselves and others. Full power only on closed race tracks, identified by GPS.
I think Nissan did the same with the GTR, at least in Japan on some models.
One thing is what is possible, another what is legal and a third is what is morally safe and good.
A driver going nuts, loosing control and killing him-/herself, is sad, but a consequence of bad actions by oneself. Worse is if they kill their passengers and/or others in traffic that are just out driving, or catching a ride. Therefore limiting cars on normal public roads makes sense, and will also soon be mandatory in parts of the world, like the EU.
On a race track, fine. Go all out, with respect for other drivers on the track.
Oh, and concerning "any software blocking the car's performance is scam and fraud".
So essentially all petrol cars then? There's a reason why you so easily can chip tune petrol cars. They are limited by software.
Maybe xiaomi don't want their customers to crash the car just outside the showroom.

Here in Slovakia top allowed speed is 160km on some highways but only a limited area. On most highways and other areas is 130km max allowed speed. In towns and cities its no more than 50 and outside cities and towns in country side the top allowed speed without getting a nice fine is 80km.
So having this car and unlocking its full potential here in Slovakia in central europe means either cops took and sell your vehicle or you loose a driving license forewer plus you get such big fine it will ruin your life for next few months or years.
I think Xiaomi doesn't want to damage the Car by the max power it has therefore for safety purpose they limit the power. Once they have tested all the necessary hardware and passed it they will be confidently open the limiter step by step. As always "Safety First".
If i remember well, yje original limits were to allow the owner to train progressively yhe power of the car which is a good thing for everybody owner and public, You cannot drive a F1 car without prior training and even if you are a F1 pilot, you have to adapt to the new car when you change team,
Give the full power of the car when exiting the garage is a danger for the owner and the public.
It reminds me a lawyer in Marseilles that got an accident with his new Honda CB 750 after making 50 meters in first gear.
Remember that the SU 7 Ultra can reach 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds.
Anonymous, 05 May 2025and Europe's 250kmh limit on every car is ridiculous but nobody is complaining There isn't a 250 limit on a very car in Europe.
