I knew it from day 1, Tesla will never build a 25k car. It would be competing against China's cheapest and with the lessest range and battery sized cars.

it was well known like a decade ago that you couldn't possibly sell new HDDs for less than about $40 because a chunk of metal and basic parts cant get any cheaper,

now try to imagine that today, are there new amazing magnet and motor innovations driving costs down? hah, now scale that up to a car, good luck waiting for 20k cars that aren't just mopeds with bodywork

Even if tesla made 25k EV, it will still be out classed by cheaper EVs by competition like Renault 5, BYD Surf. With Self driving Cybercab tesla is trying to outdo others with a unique offering in marketspace. That's why it has top focus and priority. Cybercab has more selling potential. Its success may eliminate need of a 25k manual driving car altogether.

model2 would sell twice the number of model3. is it possible to sell that much robotaxi? Definitely not. robotaxi was an unnecessary show-off and a burden to tesla. waste of resources and opportunity.
