FWD is cheaper to make though due to battery arrangement, that is why they went with this configuration for more affordable, smaller cars like EV3, EV4. There obviously is enough space in EV3 to put an extra motor at the rear, but it would increase the price out of the "practical" range most likely. If they aim for Golf GTI segment with this Ioniq 3 it is totally plausible they can make it RWD - target audience will pay up extra.

I expect neither, but instead FWD - since EV3's platform only offers that so far (the AWD version has been told about since the beginning but still not seen). I wouldn't blame if it was RWD though, just because of the looks alone, but other layouts tend to perform better in the northern winter conditions of where I live...
