Contrary to media repetition, the cost of energy is excessively complex, varies by region, and may surprisingly overlook electricity costs exceeding that of gas. Casual media often fail to properly compute useful cost comparisons. An obvious omission is the large amounts of energy lost to heat while charging and discharging. Time of use and dynamic pricing creates an unnecessary chore. For all, peak demand is rarely considered and can be challenging. And do not forget the fees.
