ThunderCrackR, 25 Mar 2026Remember when Musk was laughing at BYD? Guess who's laughing now.LOL who laughs? Still Musk as Tesla actually makes money while BYD are in debt of tens of billions despite the CCP giving them 20% of their yearly income.

BYD products are inferior compared to many other brands; they deal in volume rather than quality. The significant drops in Tesla sales are related to Elon Musk and the monster he put in power, having nothing to do with the cars themselves. It is a pure ideological boycott. I was really excited for the new Juniper in 2024 when the leaks started and was eagerly waiting for its release. By early 2025, I said I would not go near a Tesla as long as Musk is there. I
t is not just Tesla; me and most people I know have been boycotting the settler state’s products and all US products for 14 months. There are European options for almost every one of their products, from software and services to cars and airplanes. Even in silicon, Europe possesses the world’s most advanced chipmaking machinery and industrial designs, yet lacks the specialized high speed factories and massive consumer software ecosystem required to compete with American and Asian giants. It is about time we change that and start betting on our own industry.

PS: AI is the only area where we are clearly not up to par, and we won’t be anytime soon due to regulations.

As long as the service network stays so weak, foreign carmakers will not be able to break the domestic brands. Even BEV will fail at some point and then latest buyers will recognize the poor servide network of BYD, MG and all the other rising Chinese brands.
