Anonymous, 2 hours agoSo tesla and waymo after a decade+ of trying their utmost reinvented the taxi business, but w... morerobo taxi might actually beneficial for certain uses, for example in many rural areas in japan so many elderly and disabled people that can no longer drive and has to surrender their driving license. Mobility become a problem as not many young taxi/bus driver want to live in rural areas. Having a subsidized robo taxi for depopulated areas with widely dispersed demographic is better than forcing those people to move into the elder care facilities and whatnot...

Much like the lab meat and VR, "great idea, try again in 50 years when the techno,ogy may be there".
