Bobcat, 04 Aug 2026I have a Model 3 with HW3 and have been closely following this issue. It has reached the poin... moreyes but the 'ai' that tesla uses is pretrained on a ton of data.
different than how a normal person learns to drive.
i don't need to watch a ton of footage to know what a tree is..do you?
the best thing is these systems is alert/reaction time.

"the same liquid cooling loop as the battery pack and cabin climate control system"
So this is why I no longer have heat in my car.

I have a Model 3 with HW3 and have been closely following this issue. It has reached the point where FSD on older vehicles is not only not really workable but has become extremely dangerous. There is simply no safe way to use it.

And as the demands on newer Teslas with HW4 increase, the same thing will happen there. In Tesla labs, HW4 has already been written off as inadequate.

And HW5 eventually faces the same risk.

The problem is that the AI that Tesla uses is not like ChatGPT, which relies on huge data centers, but must be fully contained in the vehicle. Otherwise, even a momentary interruption in internet service will kill you. And there is an AI setting called "temperature" that controls how safe or adventurous AI is in determining the "answer." Medical AIs are set to 1 or 2. Teslas must always be set at 10. This is because a medical AI only wants fully reliable answers while FSD must always produce an immediate answer whether it is correct or reliable or not.

in short, FSD will never work reliably in an automobile.
