Didn't remember that the XL1 was only released in 2013. Right around the time when the first mass market EV's were introduced. And, we still see the Lupo 3L driving around here and there in Germany. Not sure if the XL1 influenced the Lupo 3L or the other way around.

Every car regardless of the propulsion system will benefit from clever aerodynamics. I wonder who told VW, and any other manufacturer for that matter, that customers wouldn't buy aerodynamically shaped cars. Those massive EV's shaped like a wall with close to 3 tonne weight are actually counted with 0 gramm CO2 towards the fleet emissions. So, a Leapmotor T03 has the same 0 gramm emmison like the Zeekr X9.

So the Mission Efficiency is not only a bloody good idea but simply a necessity to manage consumption. Looking at the pricing of the ID.Polo it will go up to 35,000 Euro. Shouldn't there be a market for this at this price point? All the feedback i saw on the internet was very positive and a lot of people including myself say "VW, take my money!".

It's always never too late to chase aerodynamic efficiencies, especially for EVs. They greatly need it.
