It's a really nice idea, it works in some rare destinations already, but TBH I hope the grid can hold the future usage :-D
When the wide adoption reaches my country I can bet we will have like 15 providers and every one of them will require separate registration, will provide different tariff, they will even provide prepaid tariff, and it will be utterly confusing to anyone.
