During the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show, Xiaomi pulled the wraps off a special version of its SU7 electric sedan: the SU7 Ultra Track Edition. That's the most capable version of the company's first EV yet.
What turns the already powerful SU7 Ultra into a "Track Edition"? For an extra RMB 100,000 (about $13,880), owners get a Track Professional Package that includes serious hardware designed for speed and handling on a racetrack. The car rides on Bilstein EVO R adjustable coilovers, which means the suspension can be fine-tuned for different circuits. It grips the tarmac with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tires – extra sticky tires meant for racing.
Stopping power comes from Endless race-spec brake pads that grab onto the standard ceramic discs, and the car sits on 21-inch forged wheels. Xiaomi says these parts were developed to handle tough track conditions and have been tested on various tracks, including the famous Nürburgring in Germany.
The SU7 Ultra Track Edition looks the part too. A unique 24K gold carbon fiber Xiaomi logo sits proudly on the car. Many parts are now made of lightweight carbon fiber, including a new hood with two vents that shaves off 2.9 lb and apparently helps air flow better over the front - are these vents functional? The roof, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, mirror covers, and side skirts are also carbon fiber.
A large, fixed rear wing and a new, more aggressive rear bumper make it clear this EV means business on the track. The car itself is quite large, measuring 199.6 inches long, 77.6 inches wide, and 57.7 inches tall, with a 118 inches wheelbase. Silver "Ultra" stickers on the sides and blacked-out badges at the rear further set it apart. Curiously, a LiDAR sensor for driver-assist systems stays, peeking out of the roof like a periscope.
The race-inspired theme continues inside. The cabin is a festival of Alcantara and carbon fiber. Xiaomi claims that 21 interior pieces are finished in carbon fiber, including the steering wheel. The backs of the seats, the center console, the door panels, and even the illuminated door sills are all carbon.
Drivers get information from a 7.1-inch screen behind the steering wheel and a large 16.1-inch central touchscreen. Surprisingly for a track-focused car, it still has a 25-speaker sound system and two 50W wireless phone chargers. Perhaps for listening to your favorite racing instructor or for a very quick charge between hot laps.
Under the skin, the Track Edition shares its powerhouse with the standard SU7 Ultra - the same three-motor, all-wheel-drive system. Two motors, which Xiaomi calls "V8s," power the rear wheels, each making 578 horsepower. A third "V6s" motor at the front adds 392 horsepower. Together, they deliver a massive 1,548 horsepower. This allows the SU7 Ultra Track Edition to rocket from 0 to 62 mph in 1.98 seconds. Its top speed is claimed to be 217 mph.
Powering this beast is a 93.7 kWh battery from CATL, designed for high power delivery and operating at 897 volts. The standard range is 391 miles based on the CLTC cycle, though expect much less if you're using all that performance on a track. A key difference is that the Track Edition gives you all its power right away, unlike the standard version, which needs an over-the-air software update to unlock its full potential. It also has an improved cooling system to keep things running smoothly lap after lap.
The SU7 Ultra Track Edition lapped the Shanghai International Circuit in 2 minutes and 9.944 seconds, which is reportedly faster than a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. Showing even more commitment, Xiaomi has officially partnered with Nürburgring, where Turn 12 is now officially called the "Xiaomi Curve."
Both the standard SU7 Ultra and this Track Edition share the same basic power setup, but under the skin, they are very different to drive. The regular SU7 Ultra is designed to be a comfortable and quiet yet super powerful daily driver with its softer suspension. The Track Edition gives up that comfort for sharp, precise handling. The ride is stiffer, you'll hear more noise from the tires, and the interior, while still kitted out, feels more focused on the business of driving fast.
The "Track Professional Package" will be on sale soon, transforming the SU7 Ultra into a circuit-ready machine. For those who find even this version not exclusive enough, Xiaomi has also teased that a limited-edition model is in the works. Details are scarce for now, but it shows Xiaomi is serious about carving out a niche in the high-performance electric car market.
