Xpeng Mona

Xpeng announced the Mona M03 in early July, and now production is already underway. The first finished Mona M03 cars have rolled off the production lines, ahead of the official release which is expected to come at the end of August.

The news has been shared by none other than Xpeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng. Xpeng is doing everything it can to accelerate the schedule and start deliveries as soon as possible.

Xpeng Mona M03 production starts ahead of late August availability

Xpeng started taking reservations for the Mona M03 on August 8. It can be reserved for a mere CNY 99 ($13) deposit, which will turn into a CNY 3,000 ($418) discount if a purchase is made.

The Mona M03 is the first car in Xpeng's new Mona line, and in case you were wondering, Mona stands for "Made Of New AI", which probably sounds better in Chinese.

It will arrive in two versions with 140 kW and 160 kW outputs, lithium iron phosphate batteries, and a drag coefficient of 0.194 Cd. It's expected to start under CNY 200,000 ($27,900).
