Xpeng

Xpeng's president, Brian Gu, shared some of the company's plans for 2023 in an interview with CNBC. The company is now celebrating more than 200,000 vehicles produced in just under four years after rolling off the first one from its factory. It seems that two new EV models are expected in 2023.

Arguably the more exciting one is a compact SUV to challenge Tesla's Model Y. In fact, that's how Gu worded its announcement of the new model - "a strong Model Y competitor". In addition to the said compact SUV, the maker will be releasing a large SUV in the same price bracket as its G9 SUV.

However, Xpeng ensured that the new SUV wouldn't interfere with the G9's sales as it will be targeting a different group of consumers despite the similar price tag.
