$1,000 discount and 3-month free FSD for Tesla Model S and Model X incentives extended

Just when you thought Tesla couldn't get more generous, the company has outdone itself again. Tesla has announced the extension of its revitalized referral program which was due to end on June 30. Instead, it will now carry on indefinitely, giving future Tesla Model S and Model X buyers a hefty $1,000 discount and three months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability free of charge.

In layman's terms, here's how the referral program works. If you have a friend who's planning to buy a new Model S or Model X, give them your referral link. Once they use it to order their new ride, they'll receive a $1,000 discount and three months of FSD. In return, you, the referrer, will be rewarded with 20,000 referral credits. Sounds like a deal that's too good to pass up, right?

However, it's worth noting that Tesla's newly released Model S/X vehicles, featuring the latest Hardware 4 computer, don't yet have the FSD capabilities. This could potentially be a speed bump in the road for the referral program, although it's expected to be a temporary issue.

Reports indicate that the first set of Hardware 4-equipped EVs received a software update, syncing them with Hardware 3 vehicles equipped with FSD Beta. But there's a catch: even after the update, the FSD Beta feature remained inaccessible.

To unlock the FSD Beta feature, buyers have two options - either purchase it as a separate $15,000 add-on when buying a brand-new vehicle or subscribe to it for a monthly fee. Tesla offers a flexible pricing model for this subscription, with rates ranging from $99 to $199, depending on whether your vehicle has regular Autopilot or the more advanced Enhanced Autopilot.

While this might raise eyebrows for potential customers, it's worth remembering that technological advancements often have their bumps along the way. As the potential for full self-driving evolves, Tesla's offers and features will no doubt continue to adapt to meet consumer needs and keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

The Tesla referral program is an enticing incentive for prospective EV buyers, offering substantial savings and the chance to test out the exciting world of autonomous driving. Sure, there might be a few hiccups along the way, but in the ever-evolving landscape of electric vehicles, change is the only constant.
