Genesis

The 2024 Genesis Electrified G80 is trying to widen its market appeal in the US with the introduction of Advanced trim, offering a more budget-friendly option for EV enthusiasts.

Genesis G80 has been praised for its impeccable construction, smooth ride, and overall enjoyable driving experience, but it's priced beyond the reach of most buyers. With the 2024 model, Genesis has addressed this issue by offering a more affordable entry-level version and making the higher-tier Prestige trim slightly more accessible.

According to the manufacturer's website, the 2024 Electrified G80's Advanced version starts at $75,570, including a $1,195 delivery fee. The Prestige trim, while still more expensive at $80,320, now comes in at $4,750 less than the 2023 model with similar features.

The Advanced model still packs 19-inch wheels, leather seating surfaces, a leatherette-wrapped upper instrument panel, power front seats with four-way lumbar adjustment, heated and ventilated front seats, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster with analog gauges, and a 14.5-inch navigation system equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Stepping up to the Prestige trim adds Nappa leather seats, a surround-view monitor, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, and a three-zone climate control system.

The two versions share the same dual-motor setup, which generates a combined output of 272 kilowatts (365 horsepower), and the electricity is provided by an 87.2-kilowatt hour battery, offering an EPA-estimated range of 282 miles.

Unfortunately, neither the Advanced nor the Prestige trim qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax credit, as their respective MSRPs exceed the $55,000 threshold.

The not so great news is the 2024 Genesis Electrified G80 will only be available in select retailers across 33 US states. It's essential to check the company's website to confirm its availability in your area before getting too excited about the lower starting price.
