Audi Volvo Polestar

Apple's support for digital car keys inside its Wallet app is soon going to expand to three more car brands: Audi, Volvo, and Polestar.

Apple is currently working on the necessary code additions to the Wallet app that will enable the functionality.

Audi, Volvo, and Polestar vehicles are getting Digital Car Keys in Apple Wallet

It's unclear exactly when support for digital car keys for the aforementioned car brands will launch, but it has to be soon since this information comes from code changes discovered in the Wallet app's backend.

Apple launched digital car keys in 2022, and there's currently support for select BMW, BYD, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Lotus, Mercedes, and Ram vehicles. The full list of supported vehicles is available here on Apple's website.

As the name implies, with a digital car key you use your iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock, lock, or start your car through NFC, by simply holding the phone or watch near a compatible car's NFC reader.
