Citroen Announcement

Citroen now offers a new 54kWh battery paired to a new 115kW (156hp) electric motor on the e-C4 and e-C4 X. The new configuration slots above the current 50kWh battery and 100kW (136hp) front-wheel-driven electric motor.

The bump in size and power come with a longer WLTP operating range of up to 420km, compared to the 360km of the previously existing configuration. The electric motor offers 260nm of immediate torque.

The more powerful drivetrain will be exclusive to the Shine trim level for now, leaving the lower tier 50kWh battery and 100kW motor on the Live, Feel, and Feel Pack trim levels.

Citroen says that the bigger battery has an improved energy density and longer life thanks to a higher nickel ratio - 80% nickel, 10% manganese, and 10% cobalt as opposed to the 60% nickel, 20% manganese, and 20% cobalt of the 50kWh battery. Both batteries have a heat pump for fast charging.
