Kwikset Apps

Kwikset has just announced that you can now control its smart locks from your car through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This now works because the Kwikset app for Android and iOS has been made compatible with CarPlay and Android Auto, regardless of whether your phone is connected to your car via a wire or wirelessly. Once your phone is connected, the Kwikset app will just magically appear on your car's infotainment screen. You can control and manage multiple homes and locks.

Kwikset now lets you unlock your front door from your car

So you can now unlock your door right from your car's dashboard. We don't know why you'd do that, but if you want to, now you can. Anujothi Dinakaran, software product manager at Kwikset, said:

Homeowners want simple, convenient ways to manage access to their homes, especially during everyday moments like arriving in the driveway. By bringing the Kwikset app to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, we are extending smart lock control to the car and giving users an easy way to unlock or secure their door before they step outside.

Great, why not just make the house without doors, who cares about breaking and entry, when there's no doors.
