Lucid Announcement

Lucid's recently rumored expansion into Europe has been made official today, with a couple of models offered to existing reservation holders in Europe as an upgrade "to celebrate the launch of Lucid Air".

Don't get your hopes up, however, the company still can't make any significant number of cars - so this is going to be a "very limited number" of units. We don't even get an actual number this time around, unlike in North America where the Dream Edition versions were limited to 520 units.

This is no surprise considering that Lucid is currently able to make around 300 cars per month. Anyway, let's get into the specs on "offer" here. The Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance comes with dual motors that output 828 kW (1,111 hp) with 1,390 Nm of torque. Top speed is 270 km/h, and 0-100 km/h takes 2.7 seconds.

The Lucid Air Dream Edition Range has the same torque, top speed and 924V architecture, but cuts back on the power to "just" 696 kW (933 hp). The Dream Edition Range will unsurprisingly (given its name) have the better range, which is estimated to be around 900 km using the WLTP cycle.

Both versions start at €218,000 in Germany, €222,000 in the Netherlands, CHF 199,000 in Switzerland, and NOK 1,850,000 in Norway. Those are the launch countries in Europe.

First deliveries are expected to begin in late 2022. The first physical Lucid Studio retail unit is opening in Munich at Odeonsplatz on May 13. Additional "Studios" and service centers are coming to the four countries mentioned above later this year.

Lucid says it "has the ambition to expand into additional key markets across the European continent in the coming years". Pricing and delivery dates for the more affordable Lucid Air Pure, Air Touring, and Air Grand Touring will be announced later this year. The cheapest Lucid model, the Air Pure, is expected to start at €100,000 in Germany and the Netherlands, CHF 100,000 in Switzerland, and NOK 1,000,000 in Norway, respectively.
