European carmakers like Volkswagen, Renault, Stellantis , Americans like Ford, General Motors, Japanese Toyota, Nissan, are struggling with EVs because they don't have 800V platform. Can't compete with prices and features of competitors on 800V. Mahindra will join the list if it doesn't learn from mistakes of others.

Tata Avinya 2025 launch, Suzuki e Vitara, Kia EV 3, BYD Dolphin, MG ZS/ES5 are all 800v. 800V is not just for faster charging its also cheaper, requires less components, maintenance and is future proof. INGLO wont be 800V before 2030. Cost of upgrade will be passed down to consumer. 400V EVs are costlier than 800V for same battery pack

Most chargers seem to be under 100kw. 140/175kw charging speeds are in itself higher than most cars sold in the market except Kia/Hyundai which do support 800v architecture. This is not a luxury product. If this succeeds they can launch products at higher price point and 800v architecture.

I think this has to be the 1st EV launched in India which has the specs to compete with globally launched evs at that price point. Questions will be there around build quality and after sales service. But this is a strong launch. I wonder how fast they can ramp up the production. There ought to be good demand at these prices though we only know base variant prices and this could be just an "introductory" offers as its common in India. its opposite of china as prices seem to only go up.

nitesh57, 27 Nov 2024You’ve converted the pricing incorrectly - the XEV 9E is 23000 euros, not 32000 euros. Not yet corrected

After all that hype they release luxury EV, with old 400V architecture. Should go for 800V architecture and 2C fast charging to give others tough competition. Learn from Xiaomi and Lucid about mid tier luxury EV launches.
