China is still their biggest market for MB, they sold 551.900 cars there, after that is USA where they sold 284.600 cars last year.
Probably in EU they sold more cars than in China, but couldn't find an exact number only for the whole Europe, but still It shows that China is not a negligible market like you wrote.

I really have to wonder from where you got this nonsense that Chinese population will drop >20% by 2050. The projection of UN Population Division from 2024 is 1,360 million people for China in 2050, that's less than 5%.
