XPeng has announced that it's working on expanding its collaboration with Google to natively integrate the Google Play Store into its EVs. This will power an entirely new in-car app experience, which will start rolling out in early 2027 in over 100 countries.
The company says "hundreds of apps" will become available to use in its cars' infotainment systems, and you can see what that will look like in the image below. Unfortunately, XPeng hasn't clarified which of its existing models will be getting the new Google Play integration, and that is obviously one of the most important details when it comes to such announcements.
Hopefully that will get cleared up soon, and we'll let you know when we find out more. Until then, we're cautiously optimistic - XPeng's image shows Spotify, Waze, Google Chrome, SoundCloud, Amazon's Prime Video, Tidal, HBO Max, YouTube, TuneIn Radio, NBA: Live, the Vivaldi browser, and France's Canal+ as you can see.
