Tesla plans a smaller Cybertruck version in the future

Tesla

During a Tesla investors' event, the head of engineering, Lars Moravy, teased the Tesla Roadster, fueling speculations that Tesla's supercar will finally arrive by the end of this year. During his speech, however, he also hinted at a smaller Cybertruck.

Tesla plans a smaller Cybertruck version in the future

Of course, the smaller Cybertruck isn't planned to arrive anytime soon, but it confirms Tesla's plans to make one in the near future. "We always talked about making a smaller pickup. I think in the future, as more and more of the robotaxi comes into the world, we look at those options and we think about, OK, that kind of service is useful not just for people, but also for goods.", he said.

Seeing how the current Cybertruck struggles with sales, it's probably safe to assume that Tesla will be changing its strategy. The smaller pickup will likely prioritize utility and function, unlike the current Cybertruck.

Additionally, it makes sense for Tesla to eye the all-electric, mid-size pickup segment as there aren't many options there. So, if Tesla picks up the pace and offers a solution in this niche, it will likely generate revenue and score some cash for the company.

In any case, it's obvious that the potential smaller Cybertruck sibling exists only in casual conversations inside the design and engineering teams.

What is evident is that there is not a clear strategy for the future. Very hard to hide the poor results of the company. Wihout a radical move within a year, the company will be out. Curious to see that all Elon Musk companies have huge problems a...
