Jaguar

Jaguar's new all-electric era started off with some hiccups surrounding its rebranding and the launch of the Type 00 concept car back in 2024. Some time has now passed, the internet has moved on, so the company has decided it should finally tell us the name of the first EV it will be launching in this new era.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Jaguar Type 01. It is a luxury four-door GT, according to the brand, and it will be fully unveiled later this year. Before that, it will be showcased in prototype form, wearing the distinctive camouflage wrap you can see below, at the Monaco E-Prix.

Jaguar says the "0" in Type 01 represents electric propulsion and zero tailpipe emissions, while the "1" denotes "its status as the first Jaguar of a new era". The car will be "designed, developed and built in the heart of the UK", the brand promises.

The Type 01's tri-motor technology will deliver more than 1,000PS and over 959 lb-ft of torque. Rawdon Glover, Jaguar's managing director, says the Type 01 "looks and drives like no other electric car, yet reflects a unique provenance".

The "exuberant modernist design, pioneering technology and instinctive driving dynamics" of the Type 01 will also underpin future models, Jaguar promises.

Fellow Jaguar. XFR owner 🏁 2012 Supercharger. She's a quirky one, and not many of them left. But, we love her! Hope you enjoyed yours as much as we are enjoying ours still!
