Zeekr

Zeekr is expanding its lineup with the introduction of the 007 GT, a wagon variant of its 007 sedan. The Zeekr 007 GT will be known as the Zeekr 7 GT outside of China and will launch in the second quarter of 2025.

The design stays closer to the sedan, but with the added practicality and distinctive style of a wagon body. Thanks to the first teaser image released by Zeekr, we can clearly see a sleek, sloping roofline that extends towards the rear, creating a more spacious cargo area while retaining a sporty aesthetic.

Detailed specifications remain under wraps, but it's pretty much certain that the 007 GT will share the same powertrain options as the 007 sedan. This includes a single-motor 415 hp rear-wheel drive version and a dual-motor 636 hp all-wheel drive variant. The sedan has a range of up to 383 miles on the CLTC cycle thanks to its 100 kWh NMC battery pack, and it's reasonable to expect similar if slightly lower figures for the GT model.

The 007 sedan is Zeekr's first model aimed at the mainstream EV market, with a starting price of RMB 208,800 (approximately $28,400). The 007 GT, with its more exclusive design and potentially higher performance options, is likely to command a premium over the sedan.

Zeekr's decision to introduce a wagon version of the 007 indicates the growing popularity of this body style among Chinese EV buyers. The 001 shooting brake, although not a true wagon, has been a strong seller for Zeekr.

Other Chinese EV makers, such as Nio and Neta Auto, have also launched their own versions based on existing sedan models. The Nio ET5 Touring has been quite popular in China and Europe, where it has been available since last year.

I love that they're keepin' the sporty vibe of the sedan but making it more practical with the wagon body. Smart move!
