Nio

Nio is ready to shake up the automotive industry yet again with the upcoming Nio IN 2024 Innovation Day. The event date has been set to July 27th, with Shanghai chosen as the location. The highly anticipated event will showcase the company's latest advancements in AI-powered smart EVs and will see the official launch of SkyOS, Nio's groundbreaking new vehicle operating system.

Nio IN 2024 follows the success of the inaugural event in 2023, where the company unveiled SkyOS as China's first smart EV operating system and introduced the first Nio Phone. SkyOS, Nio's full-domain operating system, is designed to create a seamless and intuitive user experience.

The system comprises four distinct subsystems: SkyOS-M, a highly secure real-time operating system built on a microkernel; SkyOS-L, a lightweight real-time operating system; SkyOS-R, a high-performance operating system for complex applications; and SkyOS-C, a deeply customized Android-based operating system. The combination of these subsystems enables SkyOS to cover a wide range of functions, including vehicle control, intelligent driving, cockpit features, and mobile connectivity.

Nio has already integrated some of the SkyOS middleware into its first-generation platform, NT 1.0, and the second-generation platform, NT 2.0. The full-featured SkyOS is expected to be available on Nio's upcoming next-generation NT 3.0-based platform. This development promises to deliver a new level of sophistication and functionality to Nio's EVs.

In addition to the SkyOS launch, Nio is also expected to unveil the second-generation Nio Phone at the Innovation Day event. The device recently received China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) certification, indicating that it is ready for market release. Nio is clearly keen to expand its ecosystem beyond EVs and establish itself as a comprehensive provider of smart devices and services. By leveraging the latest technology, Nio hopes to create a more intelligent, connected, and enjoyable driving experience for its customers.
