BYD Announcement

The 2024 Chengdu Auto Show witnessed the debut of BYD's latest offering – the Seal 06 GT. Pre-sales for the all-electric hatchback are slated to kick off in China in September, followed by a global launch in early 2025.

Built on BYD's advanced e-platform 3.0 Evo, the Seal 06 GT offers a choice between single and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor variant comes in two flavors, delivering either 160 kW (215 hp) and 229 lb-ft of torque or 165 kW (221 hp) and 243 lb-ft of torque. Opt for the dual-motor version, and you get a combined output of 310 kW (416 hp), propelling the car from 0 to 62 mph in a brisk 4.9 seconds.

Battery options include a 59.52 kWh pack and a 72.96 kWh pack, offering ranges between 314 miles and 376 miles, depending on the model (under the CLTC standard). The 800 V silicon carbide high-voltage platform can charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, while a clever optimization further speeds up charging when the battery is nearing full capacity, allowing a charge from 80% to 100% in 18 minutes.

The Seal 06 GT measures 182.28 inches in length, 74.02 inches in width, and 58.66 inches in height. The interior comes in two color schemes – shell white or twilight blue – and features a 15.6-inch adaptive floating screen, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 12-inch head-up display. Wireless charging and the DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit system further elevate the driving experience.
