Chery

Chery officially launched the QQ3 EV - an affordable, urban-friendly car with an enticing price tag. The small EV was put up for pre-sale earlier this month with a price tag of RMB 68,920 ($9,980), but during the launch event, the company surprised everyone by announcing an even lower early bird price of RMB 58,900 ($8,530).

This aggressive pricing strategy reflects the heated rivalry in China. The Chery QQ3 goes against the Leapmotor A10, which is asking RMB 65,800 ($9,530) and has a LiDAR system for the highest trim. The Chery omits that but still offers automatic parking and a Falcon 500 driving assistance system.

As mentioned, the car is quite small. It measures 165.2 inches in length, 71.3 inches in width, and 61.9 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 106.3 inches.

The vehicle relies on a single, rear-mounted motor with 90 kW output paired with either a 29.48 kWh battery or a 41.28 kWh pack. The lower capacity model can go up to 193 miles on a single charge according to CLTC data, while the higher capacity gives you up to 261 miles.

The fast charging capabilities aren't amazing, but from 30% to 80% in a little over 16 minutes should get the job done.

The cabin inside offers a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip is tasked with controlling everything inside the car. Depending on the trim, you can also use voice commands.
