Dongfeng has just unveiled its latest offering in the electric vehicle market, the Nammi 01. This compact electric vehicle offers impressive range for its very aggressive price tag and may become a runaway success among city cars.

The Nammi 01 comes in six different versions priced from RMB 74,800 to RMB 104,800 ($10,400 to $14,600), making it one of the most affordable proper electric cars out there.

It measures 158,662 inches/71.3 inches/61.8 inches, with a 104.7 inches wheelbase. The car seat five people and is available in a range of vibrant colors, including yellow, white, blue, and combinations of these hues. You can upgrade the standard 16-inch wheels to 17-inch ones as well.

The Nammi 01 is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that churns out 70 kW and 118 lb-ft of torque. This compact EV can reach a top speed of 87 mph, making it suitable for the occasional extra-urban commute.

There are two lithium iron phosphate battery pack options: 31.45 kWh and 42.3 kWh, providing 205 miles and 267 miles of range on the ever-optimistic CLTC. The maker says the Nammi 01 can recharge from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes on a DC charger.

The Nammi 01's front face features a closed grille design and triangular headlights, while other eye-catching elements include hidden door handles, frameless doors, a suspended roof design, and distinctive round taillights.

Moving inside, the Nammi 01 offers two color combos for its interior: black & white and black & gray. The cockpit is equipped with a 5-inch LCD instrument panel, a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and a 12.8-inch floating central screen. The vehicle supports mobile remote control and over-the-air updates.

Nammi 01 comes equipped with level 2 autopilot and advanced driving assistance such as blind spot monitoring, autonomous parking, remote parking and forward collision warning.

There are additional features such as 32-color ambient lighting, mobile phone wireless charging, a pull-out drawer under the glovebox, and a one-click lie-flat mode for the front seats.

The Nammi 01 is the new brand's first mode and it's built on the Dongfeng Quantum Architecture S3 platform. The company is planning to bring this compact EV to Europe this year, although with a price tag likely closer to $28,000.
