Fiat Announcement

After a lengthy teaser campaign, Fiat has finally unveiled its latest creation, the Grande Panda, an all-electric vehicle poised to conquer urban landscapes with its retro charm and modern technology.

Drawing inspiration from the original boxy Fiat Panda, this new model reimagines the classic design for the electric age. Don't let the images fool you - the Grande Panda might look cute and cuddly, but it measures 13.09 ft in length. That's over 11.8 inches more than the current Panda and nearly 23.6 inches more than the classic model. The Grande Panda is built on the versatile CMP Smart Car platform, a foundation shared with other Stellantis models like the Citroën ë-C3.

While Fiat remains tight-lipped on specific technical details, we should expect the Grande Panda to share its powertrain with the ë-C3. This would mean an 83 kW electric motor and a 44 kWh LFP battery pack, potentially delivering a range of approximately 199 miles. DC charging speeds are anticipated to reach 100 kW, enabling a 20-80% charge in under 30 minutes.

In its press release, Fiat emphasizes the strategic importance of the Grande Panda, marking the brand's shift towards global platforms and a unified design language. This new design language is evident in the Grande Panda's angular lines, bold wheel arches, and pixelated accents. A standout feature is the 3D elements in the C-pillars, cleverly displaying the Fiat wordmark or logo depending on the viewing angle.

While exact pricing and launch dates for the European market remain under wraps, the Grande Panda is expected to be competitively priced, potentially aligning with its French sibling, the Citroën ë-C3, which starts around $26,900.

With its compact dimensions, spacious interior, and a nod to iconic design, the Fiat Grande Panda aims to capture the hearts of urban dwellers and families alike. Its electric powertrain and charming aesthetics promise to make a splash in the ever-growing EV market, solidifying Fiat's commitment to sustainable mobility.

This car has its own vibe and seems like a good fit for Fiat. I think it'll sell well.
