Ford F-150 Lightning is coming to Europe

Ford

The demand for the Ford F-150 Lightning outside of the US market is so overwhelming apparently, that Ford decided it is time for the rest of the world to try the electric pickup truck. Starting with Europe, and specifically with Norway, the all-electric F-150 will be available in limited numbers to the most hard-core pickup truck enthusiasts.

Ford F-150 Lightning is one heck of a truck. First of all - it doesn’t look weird or futuristic, it looks just as a Ford F-150 buyer would want it to look. Big, square, and big again. And with plenty of power of course - for pulling stuff and smoking other cars from traffic lights. Without actual smoke, we are after all trying to save our little planet.

There are two F-150 Lightning models and both have plenty of power - you get a choice of 426 hp or, if 5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph is not fast enough, you can opt for the 563 hp version. It cuts the most essential performance figure for every farmer out there down to 4.4 seconds. Knowing that you can get to your sheep or horses in just mere seconds and without suffocating them with diesel fumes - it’s a winner for us.

Now Norwegian folks will have the chance to experience the mighty speed of Ford’s best-selling truck in the last 50 years. The company is struggling to keep up with the orders flowing in and is tripling the production of the F-150 Lightning. With the Norse Vikings now joining the ranks of owners, the demand is only to go up.

As of today those lucky few (and quick with their cash) can apply to buy one of the very few units to be made available in Norway. Ford did not elaborate on how many exactly will be available but the only trim to go on sale is the Lariat Launch Edition. Unfortunately, the deliveries won’t start till next year, we’ll have to wait for YouTube videos of happy Vikings chasing moose across frozen rivers and lakes in Antimatter Blue F-150 Lightning trucks.

Ford was kind enough to ease our waiting drama and produced its own video. Interestingly, the F-150 playing the main role is registered in the UK and in fact, the car has been available in the Blighty through some private import channels. Anyhow, enjoy the video:
