Genesis

According to a report from Korea, the Genesis GV90 will finally be unveiled on September 9. The date was purportedly revealed by "a high-ranking Hyundai Motor Group official", who requested anonymity.

That means it's still not official yet, and for good reason - the company currently has the goal of September 9 being the date, but things could still change. Anyway, we assume that even if the date changes, it will be close to this one.

Genesis has apparently already produced more than 250 units of the GV90, which are stored at its plant in Ulsan. These are the full production version, and quality checks are now underway alongside production stabilization work. Full-scale mass production is scheduled to commence in September.

The GV90 is expected to be the first model to use Hyundai Motor Group's next-generation eM platform, which will be the successor to the E-GMP, and is developed to increase driving efficiency. Some industry observers believe that the GV90's battery (or at least one option) will be over 100kWh.

The GV90 should incorporate design elements from the Neolun concept, which was unveiled in 2024. The car's starting price in Korea is predicted to be in the range of KRW 100 million (around $65,215), with the top tier model going up to about KRW 200 million ($130,431).

Hyundai is allegedly going to decide whether to combine the completion ceremony for the dedicated EV plant in Ulsan with the GV90 launch, as they're both currently internally scheduled for September. The plant has an annual production capacity of 200,000 EVs, and work on it started back in 2023.
