Smart

The iconic original Smart, later known as the Smart ForTwo, has had an electric version since 2020, but now an entirely new model is about to make its debut. This will be the Smart #2, and it was first mentioned in September 2025 by the brand.

Now it has revealed when the car will be fully introduced, and that will happen during the Beijing Auto Show. This will take place from April 24 to May 3.

The Smart #2 will then start shipping before the end of this year. Like its iconic predecessors, it will be a two-seater. It will be available in China, Europe, and other markets.

It's designed by the Mercedes-Benz team and built on Smart's new ultra-compact vehicle architecture. You can see the camouflaged #2 in the images above, which were released by the brand in December.

Smart is now a joint-venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, headquartered in Ningbo, China. The Smart #2 will join the Smart #1, Smart #3, and Smart #5 in its portfolio, with the Smart #6 also coming soon.

Too small and impractical unless it costs a lot less. Around 3.4m is ideal length for small cars. Xingyuan EV, Sakura EV, Seagull, Surf are all good examples.
