Huawei Maextro

The quiet revolution of electric cars is about silent powertrains and zero emissions. But it is also about redefining the in-cabin experience. As the drone of a gasoline engine disappears, automakers and tech companies are focusing on a new frontier: sound.

This shift is on full display in the Maextro S800, a new electric vehicle that makes a powerful statement with an advanced audio system called Huawei Sound Ultimate Series. Huawei, a company with decades of experience in consumer electronics and acoustics, developed the system to create a listening environment that rivals the best concert halls.

The company has invested heavily in audio technology since 2012, building a team of the best engineers who combine hardware expertise with software know-how. The goal for the Huawei Sound Ultimate Series was simple but ambitious: to reproduce music exactly as the artist intended.

Lars Goller, Huawei's Chief Automotive Sound and Acoustics Advisor, explained this philosophy as creating "the outstanding phantom effect of sitting right where the music was created." The system's debut in the ultra-luxury Maextro S800 sedan starts a new era for Chinese-developed audio systems, with a goal to surpass established global competitors.

The Huawei Sound Ultimate Series features 43 speakers, a configuration that creates an immersive, ultra-surround sound experience. Dual amplifiers pump out a combined 2,920 Watts of power, delivering a strong and impactful sound that can be felt as much as it is heard. Passengers in the rear seats get to experience an extra layer of sensory input from the 4D exciters, which vibrate in sync with music and video content.

The sound system includes innovative features that go beyond simple playback. The Crystal Star-Ring Diffuser, for example, is a striking centerpiece that rises from the dashboard when the doors open. Its ambient lighting pulses with the music, creating a visual show that matches the audio.

To handle deep, clean bass, Huawei developed the Tangential Force Woofer, which rotates a traditional door woofer by 90 degrees. This unique placement reduces panel vibration, letting the low-frequency sounds come through without unwanted rattling. For even deeper bass, the patented Dual-Diaphragm Subwoofer uses the entire cabin space to deliver a powerful, layered low-end.

In a first for the industry, the Huawei Sound Ultimate Series introduces independent sound zone technology. Using special sound field control algorithms, the system acts like a built-in silencer, achieving 30 dB of isolation between the front and rear seats.

This means front passengers can listen to one audio source, and those in the back can enjoy something completely different with next to no interference. The system also includes 10 overhead channels and Huawei's spatial audio track model, which helps pinpoint the exact location of sounds for an incredibly detailed listening experience.

As if that wasn't already impressive, the Maextro S800 uses AI-powered "sound-to-light" technology, which translates the rhythm and emotion of a song into a moving light show across the interior ambient lighting. This creates a richer, more emotional atmosphere where music is not only heard but seen. All of this is powered by a HarmonyOS-based ecosystem, delivering a smooth and connected experience.

it is still a laughing matter. chinese products are known for low quality, low durability and most of the times knock-off designs. they still make fake versions of well known products.

this is just an initiative of chinese government officials to replace the german premium cars and reduce the import volume. nothing more. china's overpopulation keeps the local brands alive.
