Mullen

Mullen FIVE RS, a crossover EV with impressive horsepower figures, is setting its sights on Germany for its initial launch in December 2025.

Mullen claims the FIVE RS can rocket from a standstill to 60 mph in under two seconds. If that doesn't grab your attention, its projected top speed of over 200 mph surely will. These numbers put the FIVE RS in a very exclusive club of performance vehicles, electric or otherwise.

Underpinning these impressive figures is some serious technology. The FIVE RS features an advanced 800V electrical system, which allows for faster charging and more efficient power delivery. Combined with a two-speed gearbox – something not commonly found in all electric cars – and an all-wheel-drive system, the powertrain is designed to deliver its claimed 1,100-plus horsepower with brutal efficiency.

Development is reportedly on track, with Mullen recently announcing the successful completion of 800V battery performance testing at the TUV SUD facility in Munich, Germany. The next crucial step is on-road testing, which will pave the way for final approval in the European market.

To ensure a smooth market entry and high-quality production, Mullen has teamed up with Faissner Petermeier Fahrzeugtechnik AG (FPF). FPF is a German engineering and production firm with a history of working with the likes of BMW, Piech Automotive, and Gumpert Automotive. This partnership will leverage FPF's expertise and IATF certification, ensuring the Mullen FIVE RS meets the exacting standards expected in the luxury performance segment.

Following its German debut, Mullen plans a staged rollout for the FIVE RS. Other European Union countries, along with the United Arab Emirates and South Africa, will get the vehicle in early 2026. Only after the FIVE RS has established a sales footing in these international markets, will the company look into launching it in the US. The pricing has yet to be announced, but its performance figures suggest it will likely come at a premium.

a dedicated button for each gear selection in the middle of the dashboard??? (P,D,R..) that looks like a very unpractical interface solution for a sports car.. I hope that mistake does not make it to production

Do Americans hate EVs so much, American EV companies have to release their cars overseas first before releasing in their own country?
