BMW iX3 production goes non-stop as it received 100,000 orders already

BMW

BMW has announced that it's added a third shift to its plant in Debrecen, Hungary, for the production of the iX3. This comes after the second shift was added in February. So now, the factory is churning out iX3s left and right on a non-stop 24/7 schedule. This represents the fastest production ramp-up for any new BMW Group plant.

And it makes perfect sense since BMW has already received 100,000 orders for the iX3 in Europe. In July, the Debrecen plant had already produced its 50,000th iX3 vehicle, but there's still a long way to go to fulfill all the orders.

The Debrecen plant, which started series production at the beginning of this year, will start producing a second model in the Neue Klasse family "later this autumn". The facility is capable of producing a broad range of "customer-specific vehicle configurations", BMW says.
