At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Peugeot unveiled two new all-electric concept cars - the RCZ Vision and the E-T16, inspired by the popular models from the company back in the day.
Peugeot RCZ Vision concept
Let's start with the RCZ, which brings back the double-bubble roof as a tribute to the original RCZ. Peugeot highlights that the concept vehicle serves as a general direction for the company's design and technologies for years to come. An actual production-ready RCZ model isn't planned just yet. The RCZ Vision introduces the Feline Future design language that will underpin upcoming Peugeot models in the future.
The Peugeot RCZ concept is an all-electric vehicle based on a 1,000V platform with an extremely thin solid-state battery (110 mm) developed by Factorial Energy. With energy consumption of just 11.5 kWh/100 km, the current setup can up tor 373 miles on a single charge.
Speaking of charge, the aforementioned super-high-voltage architecture enables charging from 10 to 80% in just 10 minutes.
The car is no slouch either, Peugeot claiming 500 hp output, but more details for the drivetrain wasn't specified. It's probably safe to assume that we are looking at an AWD configuration.
Inside the RCZ Vision, we find a very minimalistic interior. Peugeot shows off only two small screens, as the company wants to focus on configurable and less distracting information. So instead of implementing screens all around the cabin, just two small ones are enough, or so the French maker would have us belive.
The concept envisions steer-by-wire and a weird-looking steering wheel. There's also the brake-by-wire technology on board, which replaces the hydraulic brake system with an electronic one. It improves braking modulation and regenerative braking.
Peugeot E-T16 concept
Unlike the RCZ Vision, Peugeot's E-T16 concept is much closer to a real product. The company says some of the design elements and technologies used in this concept will make it to production models.
Design-wise, the E-T16 draws inspiration from the original 205 T16 with widened fenders, a huge rear wing and aggressive bodywork.
The hot hatch can go from 0 to 180 km/h in just 16 seconds, while the 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes only 2.5 seconds. The three electric motors boast peak output of 815 hp, making the E-T16 the fastest Peugeot ever built.
Other features include torque vectoring across both axles, three driving modes and a fourth mode that's entirely user-configurable. 380-mm brake discs make sure this beast also stops rapidly, and inside you'll find a vertically mounted hydraulic handbrake.
Peugeot worked on a new battery cooling system that can support the cells during long rally races. The battery extracts heat from the sides instead of the base, and it's enough to ensure three Nurburgring Nordschleife laps without a drop in the power output.
Just like the RCZ Vision, the E-T16 also uses steer-by-wire, combined with the rectangular-ish steering wheel called Hypersquare, which will end up in the E-208 as well.
