Nio to complement its upcoming smartphone with a smartwatch

Nio

Nio, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has made an interesting new move by filing an application to register the Nio Watch trademark in China. The application was submitted on December 16, 2022, and it describes the trademark as a scientific instrument, with the status now listed as "pending application."

Nio previously confirmed it is entering the smartphone market and it appears accessories are also in its plans. In July last year Nio CEO, William Li, had a conversation with Nio owners in Fuzhou, where he stated that the firm would be building a new phone model every year, similar to how Apple does it.

While it is also possible that Nio Watch trademark is being filed only to provide legal protection for the brand, a smartwatch would be a great companion device and one that would certainly have a lot of utility when it comes to interacting with your EV.

Nio Mobile Technology Co. Ltd. was formally established in China on August 4 last year with a registered capital of $100 million. The company's area of operation includes the sale of electronic goods, mobile devices, wearable devices, devices for artificial intelligence, communication devices, in addition to the creation of both technology and software.

On November 15 2022, Li confirmed company's mobile phone business is doing very well and that the phone is coming in 2023. Li did say that the decision to go into the mobile phone business was made after 5–10 years of long-term strategic deliberation.

Well yes and thats a problem of present times. It should be nice to have most 3 devices from each brand. A base basic model, more advanced one but for affordable price and the best of the best. Giving 100 devices a year is meaningless.

One phone a year just like the Oneplus of the old times.
