Nio Onvo

Nio's Onvo sub-brand launched its first model, the L60, in China last year and it's seen some decent sales levels over there. But of course this won't be the only Onvo on the market forever. It will in fact be joined by the Onvo L80 in the second half of this year.

The L80 has now completed trial production, and will enter the Tooling Trial phase ahead of the actual start of production, which should be reached in the next few weeks if everything goes well.

Thus, the L80 could launch closer to the middle of the year, since all of these pre-production steps are so advanced already. If nothing goes wrong from this point on, then a July introduction wouldn't surprise us at all. Deliveries are already confirmed to start in the third quarter, so between July and September.

The L80 will be a large SUV, expected to have either six or seven seats. Nio CEO William Li told media after the L60's launch that the L80 will be "a revolutionary product" that will "bring surprises", but hasn't gone into any more detail than that. He did however mention that the L80 will be an even more competitive product than the L60.

Onvo will also launch another SUV this year, a big five-seater (presumably bigger than the L60).

I really want to see a 3.5 meter Onvo like Nissan Sakura, with 20Kwh Swappable Sodium battery and ADAS Level 2 with LIDAR
