Nissan Featured Range test

The Nissan Ariya is the latest car we have for a review and as we just completed its range testing we have some interesting numbers to share with you. We got the version with the larger 87 kWh battery and single motor FWD - a very promising combo when it comes to range.

The WLTP rating of 333 miles was very promising, but the car's substantial weight of over 4,850 lb with only the driver and its relatively high 0.297 drag coefficient ended up taking its toll.

Test was conducted at 52°F, which is lower than the optimal, but far from freezing and yet the Ariya ended up the thirstiest among the cars we've reviewed. Still, thanks to its large battery at a steady 37 mph it managed to exceed its WLTP rating as most cars do.

At 90km/h and 130km/h the Ariya also remained the car with the highest consumption among the 11 we've recently tested, although in both cases its ample battery capacity helped it to very respectable ranges.
