Peugeot teases the E-3008 ahead of its September 12 debut

Peugeot has dropped a teaser of their soon-to-debut E-3008, and it's stirring curiosity all over. Scheduled for its grand appearance on September 12, the E-3008 is deliberately avoiding the ongoing Munich Motor Show. A strategic move or simply a bid for exclusivity? Only Peugeot knows.

The teaser video splashed across social media feeds gives car enthusiasts a taste of what's to come. And by the looks of it, Peugeot isn’t holding back on style. The E-3008's exterior doesn't shy away from making a statement. The sleek coupe-SUV shape paired with LED headlights and daytime running lights promises a visual treat. The black front grille, interspersed with blue touches and the latest Peugeot emblem, adds to its distinct character.

Spy shots of the E-3008 prototypes have further fueled speculations. A spoiler extending from the roof and LED taillights hint at the vehicle's balance between sporty and sophisticated. And let's talk about the interior - because Peugeot surely did back in June.

Remember the days when a car's dashboard was just, well, a dashboard? The E-3008 takes it a notch higher with a whopping 21-inch curved display. This isn't just any display. It combines the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen. Add to that a head-up display and another screen controlling media and climate. And no, Peugeot hasn’t forgotten about the tiny but important touches - the small steering wheel (a signature of sorts), two cupholders, a wireless charging pad, and even a scroll wheel for media volume. What's more, the ambient lighting system promises an in-cabin experience quite unlike any other.

However, beauty isn't just skin deep with the E-3008. The bones - or should we say the platform - of this electric SUV is what many have their eyes on. Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform will be the base. While the technical specs play hard to get, the rumblings in the automobile grapevine suggest three potential powertrains. One could even boast two motors with all-wheel drive. And for those always worried about how far they can push an electric vehicle before the next charge, the E-3008 might just offer a pleasant surprise. The word around town is that its range-centric variant could cover a distance up to 435 miles without begging for a battery boost.

While the world waits with bated breath for the official reveal, one thing is clear. The Peugeot E-3008 isn't just another electric SUV; it's a declaration that Peugeot is still very much in the game and not afraid to bend the rules. Not bad for a company that started from building coffee mills and bicycles back in the 19th century, and then proceeded to give us a few iconic rides before the EV revolution turned the world upside down.
