Polestar 3 SUV will start at $75,000, full price range revealed by the company

Polestar

Polestar's next EV is the Polestar 3 SUV, which will be fully unveiled in October. That's also when you'll be able to place your order for one. In case you've been wondering how much you need to save up, thankfully Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath has been pretty open about the topic at the Automotive News Europe Congress.

The Polestar 3 will range between €75,000 and €110,000 according to the man that should know best, and the US prices will cover a very similar range because of the exchange rate parity between the dollar and the euro, Ingenlath noted. So expect $75,000 to $110,000 in the US then.

While Polestar will start taking orders for the new model in October, the company hasn't yet unveiled when it plans to start deliveries - and that's usually the biggest pain point with any new EV.

Polestar 3 SUV has its price revealed by the company

Talking about the Polestar 3, CEO Thomas Ingenlath said "it's an SUV, which everyone loves, but it's also very aerodynamic and very engaging to drive. It's not a car to drive to the kindergarten" - except that's probably what it will end up being used most for, if we go by what generally happens with SUVs these days.

The Polestar 3 will be made in Volvo's Charleston, South Carolina factory in the US, and it will share its new Scalable Product Architecture 2 (SPA2) platform with Volvo's upcoming flagship SUV, which will also be built there. This platform theoretically allows for dual motors and batteries sized for a range of around 600 km (372 miles).

The company wants to sell 24,000 Polestar 3 units worldwide next year, 67,000 in 2024, and 77,000 in 2025.
