Polestar

That did not take long - only two weeks ago Polestar confirmed it was giving in to the public pressure and bringing the Polestar 02 concept car into production as a Polestar 6. With only so much as a promise that the production car will follow closely the design of the concept car, the orders poured in.

The company decided that the first 500 units of the upcoming Polestar 6 will come in a limited edition LA Concept, featuring the iconic “Sky” paint job and the unique 21” wheels together with the whote leather interior. And that was it, no other details, no idea how far or close to design the actual car is going to be.

With a price tag of $200,000 and a deposit of $25,000 required to book one of the 500 units, the limited edition sold out in 7 days. Now the waiting begins and it’ll be a while, the car is planned for 2026 at best.

Is the 884hp and 900Nm electric convertible worth the wait? You bet it is. Will it really cost $200,000 when it hits the road? Far from certain as four years is a long time. But still it is going to be a great car. In 4 years time its power may not represent the highest numbers but it’ll be mighty quick. It will look great for the next 50 years or even more. And with 500 cars in the limited LA Concept edition it will sell for way more when it eventually starts swapping owners.

Polestar 6 will be based on the Polestar 5 architecture with a shorter wheelbase, but the same battery capacity and same electric motors. 300 miles or 480 km range is expected together with 3.2 seconds sprint from 0 to 100 kph (0 to 62 mph) and a top speed of 250 kph (155 mph). Sure, there are faster electric cars out there already and there will be more. None of them look like the Polestar 6.

Will the production car be a topless 4 seat sports coupe like Polestar O2? Judging by what Max Missoni, the car’s designer said, we may see a fixed-roof version of it rather than an open top. There is a possibility of a removable targa top but it will all depend on viable engineering solutions.

That’s where Polestar excels, in just a few years they came out of the blue and conquered the world with fresh and exciting designs. So, if you’re one of those lucky people with your name on one of the 500 Polestar 6 LA Concept units, you have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy the next 4 years and watch your investment grow.

So you think of short term investments in terms of "will I survive?" Interesting outlook. You probably don't make many investments. And that's ok, because you can buy my preorder in 4 years for double the prince 👍

This is ridiculous. Only people who dont care about money would buy something like this 4 years before thy get this vehicle with no knowing whether they will live and survives those 4 years. Money tossed into toilet. 25% of global population...
