Porsche revealed its latest addition to its electric car portfolio at the Auto China 2026 show in Beijing. The new model is called the Cayenne Coupé Electric, and it is a sleeker, faster version of the brand's already popular SUV. Many big SUVs look like boxes on wheels, but this one tries to look more like a sports car. It borrows its shape from the legendary 911, giving it a roofline that drops down quickly toward the back.
This design choice is as much for good looks as it is to help the car cut through the air much better than a standard SUV. Cayenne Coupé Electric scores a Cd of 0.23 - the regular SUV version is a 0.25. Because of that seemingly small difference, the new Porsche can travel further on a single charge. Depending on which model you pick, you can get up to 416 miles of range. That is about 11 miles more than the non-coupe version can manage.
The car is quite large, even if it looks sporty. It measures 196.3 inches long and 78 inches wide, and it sits 0.94 inches lower than the standard SUV, standing at 65 inches tall. Porsche also gave it a unique windshield and a rear spoiler that moves. It is a big vehicle that wants to be a race car when it grows up.
When it comes to power, Porsche is offering three different versions. The base model Cayenne Coupé Electric starts with 300 kW, which is about 408 horsepower. If you use the "Launch Control" feature, it boosts to 325 kW. This allows the car to go from zero to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds. Its top speed is 143 mph. That is likely more speed than anyone needs for a school run, but it is there if you want it.
If that is not enough, the Cayenne S Coupé Electric offers even more punch. It produces 400 kW normally but can hit 490 kW with overboost. This middle-tier model can reach 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. It also has a higher top speed of 155 mph.
The most powerful version is the Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric. This model has 630 kW of power, but when using boost, it goes up to 850 kW (that is 1,156 horsepower). It can sprint to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds. For a vehicle that weighs this much, that kind of speed is almost hard to imagine, and it can keep going until it hits 162 mph.
Charging the latest electric Porsche is also meant to be fast. It uses an 800V system, and it can plug into a DC fast charger and pull in up to 400 kW of power. If the charger is fast enough, the battery fills up before you can finish a cup of coffee. For home charging, the car comes with an 11 kW charger, but you can upgrade to a 22 kW version if you want to pay a little extra.
Inside, the cabin is filled with technology. There are screens everywhere, including one just for the person sitting in the passenger seat. There is also a digital instrument cluster for the driver and an optional head-up display that puts information right on the windshield. Owners can even customize the screens with "widgets," much like a smartphone.
Despite all the fancy tech, the car is still practical. The trunk in the back holds between 534 and 1,347 liters, depending on if the seats are up or down and there is a 90-liter storage area under the hood. If you need to tow a trailer or a boat, the Cayenne Coupé Electric can pull up to 7,716 lb. It also comes with air suspension as standard, so it should feel very smooth on the road.
For those who want to spend more money to get less weight, Porsche offers a "Lightweight Sport" package. This swaps out the standard roof for a carbon fiber one and adds special 22-inch wheels. This package cuts 38.8 lb from the car's weight. It also adds "Pepita" cloth seats that look like they belong in a vintage racing car. Whether you want a luxury cruiser or a 1,000-horsepower rocket ship, this new electric Porsche seems to have a version for everyone.
