Porsche shows off the Cayenne Electric's "interior of the future"

Porsche is slowly releasing more and more official details about its upcoming Cayenne Electric, the car it created with the help of AI, and today it chose to show off its interior in all its glory.

Porsche says this is the "interior of the future", and in case those words made you instantly think of screens upon screens left and right... you'd be right, as it turns out.

In fact, you're getting "the largest display surface ever featured in a Porsche", was there any doubt? The centerpiece is what Porsche is calling the Flow Display, a curved OLED panel that "flows seamlessly into the center console", and seems to have two distinct parts, but is actually all one screen.

Distinct are the 14.25" OLED digital instrument cluster and the optional 14.9" passenger display, still. Oh, and for the first time you can also get an augmented reality head-up display, with an effective size of 87", which projects navigation arrows and lane guidance into the driver's view of the road.

The passenger screen offers entertainment, app control, and video streaming even during driving, without distracting the driver. There's a Themes app that changes the color scheme of all digital surfaces in the car, with five pre-defined options to choose from in order to make "the digital interface itself a design element", Porsche says.

The car will also have an AI-powered voice assistant, which is promised to reliably understand complex instructions and follow-up questions. It can control climate, seat heating, ambient lighting, and Mood Modes, it recognizes addresses, points of interest, and traffic information, and can directly play media content on request. The Cayenne Electric also supports UWB digital car keys.

The car's rear seats are electrically adjustable as standard, while the aforementioned Mood Modes "orchestrate light, climate, sound and seat functions to create different distinctive atmospheres" to aid relaxation or concentration or to "further enhance the driving experience", according to Porsche's press release.

There's a sliding panoramic roof too, the largest ever fitted to a Porsche in fact. Its front section opens like a classic sliding roof, and it can go from clear to matte in its entirety thanks to an electrically controlled liquid crystal film. There are two semi-transparent modes as well, providing 40% and 60% transparency, respectively.

The Cayenne Electric's surface heating doesn't just warm the seats but also large contact areas like the armrests and sections of the door panels. There will be 13 interior color combinations, four interior packages, and five accent packages. Alongside the classic leather options, there will also be a leather-free version - the Race-Tex interior with Pepita print textile.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric will make its full official debut "at the end of this year".
